Writer’s comments: The next four deeds relate to the same basic property with slight variations in property lines and acreage.

Track No. 1 begins in the center of the old iron bridge and includes the three plants, the cloth warehouse, the mill office, the vacant land between mill and employee owned houses on Glendale Ave. and Douglas Streets and continuing for a distance downstream.

Tract No. 2 is the location of the old fire water tank located on Douglas Street.  (Click Plats 146-A and 146-B for reference) The plants were destroyed by fire March 21, 2004. 

I.

Deed book 41-R, pages 124-26, dated January 28, 1974:
The Colox Corporation formerly known as Diversified Industries, in consideration of ten dollars, ($10.00)  conveyed to Clarkson Brothers, Inc.;

No.1; All that tract or parcel of land containing approximately 30 acres, being a part shown on the plat of Wm. L. Barrow Co. dated January 22, 1962, recorded in Plat book 44 pages 546-48. .

No.2; Also lot # 155 (old fire water tank) as shown on plat “subdivision of Glendale Mills, Inc. dated April 25, 1955 and recorded in Plat book 32 pages 266-277.

No. 3; With the right to flood, overflow, discharge, maintain or abandon the dam as shown in said plat #44, page 546. This property is conveyed free and clear of all obligations, if any, incident to the sewerage collection and disposal system and the water system serving the
Glendale village property..

No.4; The Grantor expressly reserves to the Grantor and excepts from this conveyance such water and sewer systems and any part thereof, including pumps, motors, etc. with easements to maintain same. The duly sworn true, full and complete consideration of the above deed was declared to be one hundred, fifty five thousand dollars. ($155,000.00).
II.

Deed book 54-K, pages 208-11, dated July 1, 1988:
Clarkson Brothers, in consideration of three hundred thousand dollars, ($300,000.00) conveyed to Lloyd D. Auten;

All that track #1 (mill tract) or parcel of land at Glendale, Spartanburg County, containing 31.90
acres, more or less, as shown on plat of survey for Clarkson Brothers, Inc. dated June 21, 1983
by Blackwood Associates, Inc., less and excluding that certain tract of land containing 0.03 acres
more or less on the south side of Douglas street and conveyed to Spartanburg Sanitary Sewer District, Deed book 48-Y page 77 and shown in plat book 87 page 836.

All that tract # 2 or parcel of land located north of tract 1 containing 0.12 acres more or less.(water tank tract) Deed gives Grantee the right to flood, overflow, discharge, maintain or abandon the dam as  shown on plat recorded in Plat book 44 pages 546-548, subject to the assessments or rights of others, if any, with respect thereto, this being the same property conveyed by deed to Colox Corporation, recorded February 1, 1974, Deed book 41-R.

III.

Deed book 55-Y, pages 479-484, dated October 31, 1989:
Lloyd D. Autun, in consideration of seven hundred and forty thousand dollars, ($740,000.00)
conveyed to Tobias Textiles, the following parcels or tracts of land:

Tract #1; All that tract or parcel of land containing 31.90 acres, more or less, as shown on Plat
of survey for Clarkson Bro. Inc., dated June 21, 1983, less and excluding that certain tract of
land containing 0.03 acres conveyed to the Spartanburg Sanitary Sewer System.

Tract #2; All that tract or parcel of land north of Tract #1 containing 0.12 acres. (Water tank) The above described property being the same conveyed to Grantor by Clarkson Bros. Inc. July
1, 1988, restrictions and easements same as specified on Deed 54-K.

IV.

Deed book 71-N, pages 995-998, dated February 3, 2000:
Tobias Textiles, Inc., in consideration of four hundred and ten thousand dollars, ($410,000.00)
conveyed to Glendale Development Corporation;

All tract #1 or parcel of land containing 19.38 acres, more or less and excluding 0.03 acres conveyed to Spartanburg Sanitary Sewer System.

All tract # 2 or parcel of land containing 0.12 acres lying north of tract 1. (water tank site)
This deed also conveys a 2.96 acre parcel shown as tract “B”.  (Click Plats 146A , 146B and 162)
